* Doing shows, displaying the work on the web and sales through stores has really been quite a learning experience. I have learned so much just by listening and watching peoples reactions to the art work. THANK YOU to all that have taken the time to write or stop by at a show and share their thoughts and stories, especially the funny ones. Here are just a few of the comments I have received from individuals that have purchased the work over the years.

"We always look forward to seeing your work.. You always have something new."
collectors (with great taste!) for many years from Colorfest, Thurmont, MD
"Does your mom set up in the park at Colorfest ? ............ My mom, sister and I all love your mom's work! ...... It has really changed over the years. I have some of her original pottery pockets with lace and doilie impressions......"

"Kathy,
Yesterday my husband hung the split tiles on my dining room wall. Perfection! The design is so pleasing to the eye and the colors could not be more perfect next to my swag curtain. What a find for me. .........
I am proud to have your craft in my home. I so appreciate your talent. Thank you."

A very soft spoken lady stopped by and purchased a Queen Anne's Lace impression in clay as a "meant to be gift" for her sister. She had planned on visitng her sister the day before but the visit had to be postponed. She came to Discover Presque Isle to kill some time before her rescheduled visit. There it was a memory captured in clay of days gone by as little girls gathering wildflower bouquets, Queen Anne's Lace was her sisters favorite. "The delay happened for a reason...." She now had the perfect gift to give her sister.
(I used to work with cancer patients, those images and people are with me every day of my life. The story she shared still brings a tear and a smile.)
At the 2008 Baltimore Herb Festival a very pleasant couple stopped by as they do every year to see new work and to give an update on how the tile transfer they purchased in 2005 is holding up. The tile has been hanging outside year round in the elements under direct sunlight 50% of the day. The image is still there and very pleasing, the corner edging is just sarting to lighten and they plan on resaeling the surface. The surface texture feels different and the overall color is brighter after the rain. They are going to test a stone sealer or use a sealer as I have used, to reseal the surface. They purchased another large tile to go with the original. Many THANKS for sharing this valuable information.
At Cabin Fever a smiling lady stopped by to share a story. During the holidays when all her family was present, she anounced she was working on her will and had asked if there was anything in particular any of her children wanted. A moment of silence, her son spoke up and said there was one thing he would really like. He pointed to the impression in clay piece on the wall. We both laughed, I truely was honored as she stated it was the only item chosen as a keepsake. (Her son has great taste!)
A loyal collector of my ugly heads, has them displayed all around his telephone. He listens and envisions the person on the other end as one of those wierd ugly heads. He always gets everyone laughing in the booth. (He must get some really interesting calls!)
Another loyal collector of the ugly heads has them dispursed around her family portraits on the wall. This couple always create a lot of laughter at my shows. (I can relate!)
A lady stopped by my booth at a trade show in the Philadelphia area, she was so excited to find prints of Queen Anne's Lace that went perfectly with a piece of pottery with an actual impression of the plant in it she had purchased at "The Philadelphia Flower and Garden Show." I showed her a post card of one of my clay impressions and told her a friend did sell my work at that show. She went on to tell me her entire room was decorated around my pottery and a very famous print of Queen Anne's Lace.
At a trade show a buyer stopped by to say hello and to tell me how much they and family members have enjoyed the prints. She purchased a number of prints and had them framed to match different rooms in their home and gave as gifts to family members.

"Dear Kathy,
I visited your booth this past weekend........ Upon entering your booth, I was twice told that your (clay) was "one of a kind" I had a bit of an attitude since I had a piece similar to yours hanging on my kitchen wall.........
I bought a piece. On the way home... I began to think........wouldn't it be something if what I had at home was by the same artist? Well, I noted your signature on the back and then pulled mine down from the wall. Sure enough, you made both pieces - one in 1996........ I just thought that was neat and wanted to share it with you........
A loyal Customer!"

* Over the years, we have had so many stories shared with us. I wish I could say they all brought laughter, some bring tears. Those are the hardest to hear. Hopefully when this happens, there are two of us working, so we can take a break to pull ourself back together. We love the people through our work and have been blessed to have touched so many lives in a positive way.
